Recent scientific discoveries suggest the startling truth that human emotion is a long lost
sensory system. Although emotion has been profoundly misunderstood, like primary colors, feeling tones such as joy, sadness, fear, and anger give rise to such blended secondary shades as trust, envy, gratitude,
resentment, love, and hate that each deliver multiple layers of sensory information into consciousness---evaluative, self-regulatory
information vital to our survival, physical health, mental and social development, spiritual well being, and even to the evolution of the species. Not a newly evolved or sixth sense, emotion emerged as the
first sense, with positive and negative feelings hearkening back to the very electromagnetic stimulus-response mechanics of all matter in motion. Emotion provides both sensory perception of---and guided
behavioral interaction with---what has been termed "chaos", the deterministic yet unpredictable self-organizing regulatory force within nature. In theological terms, emotion provides the sensory perception of "spirit",
the animating and guiding force within all living beings, and our only conscious link to nature's values, purposes, and biologically "right and wrong" states of being, thought, and action. It is our only guide for
aligning conscious free will volitional behaviors with the ancient flow and wisdom of nature. But emotion is hardly used as a vital sense, it has been historically reviled, repressed, manipulated, and confounded by both
scientific and religious misassumptions---a tragic mistake. Indeed, at present, the species is profoundly handicapped without it. Come rediscover what it means to be a fully sentient, multi-sensory human
being. It will change your life. Rather, it will allow it to begin. |
